Millwright in any construction site or project is responsible to carry out installation of machinery components or equipment's e.g. pumps etc.

Below is a list of few activities carried out by Millwrights in any construction site or project.

• Installation of Machinery on foundation that includes shimming , Placement of machinery on foundation with help of rigging crew & carry out leveling of machinery on foundation e.g. for a pump coupled with motor a millwright needs to check & if necessary correct DBSE ( distance b/w shaft ends ) as per drawing , check & if necessary correct soft foot as per specifications , Carry out shaft alignment etc.
• Millwrights also carry out onsite assembly work for rotary equipment's e.g. installation of compressor pistons etc.
